We are hugely excited to announce that Youth Options has been awarded a grant by BBC Children in Need to support Looked After Children with holiday provision.

Starting in October half term Re:LACS will involve 10 weeks of outdoor holiday clubs with the last session being held in February 2022. Our staff will work with small groups to combat the issues they are facing and offering a chance to engage with learning during the holidays.

The programme will be designed by qualified teachers and include subjects included in the curriculum.  Each session will offer fun and engaging activities in a structured environment, that support children to maintain their engagement in learning through the holidays and following the break due to Covid-19.  It will also address fears over moving to a new school, build more positive relationships with their peers, improve their communication skills and increase self-esteem.

We can't wait to get started with this amazing project and would like to say a huge thank you to BBC Children in Need for making it possible.

Youth Options already works with Looked After Children through their Impact project, and this will be a great addition to the support already on offer.

BBC Children in Need relies on the generosity and creativity of the thousands of supporters and fundraisers who raise millions of pounds for the charity every year. To date the UK public has raised over £1 billion for children and young people facing disadvantage across the UK.
