A Little About Us

We are committed to providing young people with the opportunities, skills and qualifications they need to build a successful future.

Our Progression Opportunities are designed to develop leadership skills, social action projects and advocacy opportunities for those children and young people whose voices are seldom heard and to support those not currently engaged in education, employment or training to access tailored pathways to personal development and employability.

We are proud to be an approved training centre, delivering and assessing Ofqual-regulated qualifications through the awarding body LASER.

With the guidance of our Youth Support Workers, young people can earn LASER Awards, Certificates, or Diplomas in Progression by completing units that focus on areas such as personal development, employability, peer-mentoring and outdoor learning skills. 

Our Qualification Structure

These units are designed to address diverse needs, helping young people build essential skills in personal development, employability, literacy, numeracy, and IT. To attain these qualifications, learners can complete a mix of units from the following areas:

Better Futures - Employability

Units include building a personal career portfolio, understanding employment and wages, and recognising employment opportunities.

Better Futures - Outdoor Learning

Units include recognising trees and plants, using and maintaining garden tools, and developing skills in garden horticulture.

Better Futures - Personal Development

Units include developing personal confidence and self-awareness, healthy living, mentoring, and DJ skills.

Help Build a Brighter Future

“I was really nervous about starting the programme because I’d been at home a lot, feeling too anxious to go out alone. But when I started, the team took time to get to know me and figure out the best way to support me.

I had regular 1:1 sessions where I felt listened to and understood, which helped me feel more confident and motivated. I ended up enjoying my work placements and have stayed on as a volunteer at the café.

I’m feeling more independent every day and I’m able to go out alone more. My goal is to get a paid role at the café which I am now confident I can do!”
