Non Violent Resistance (NVR) is the practice of achieving goals without the threat of violence or destructive behaviours. Drawing on the principles of family therapy, our NVR training programme focuses on all aspects of family life to support interventions that make sustainable changes for everyone involved.
Whilst the programme initiated in addressing violence, it can be applied a range of challenges within a family including substance misuse, criminal activity, school refusal and anxiety.
At the heart is the parent/carer and their commitment to change. We give them the skills to change and overcome feelings of helplessness and to address unmet social, emotional and physical needs which could be linked to disruptive behaviour.
Our programme has been running since 2019 and we have supported over 120 families to lead happier, more positive lives.
Our highly trained NVR Practitioners have experience in supporting those families where there are challenging behaviours including ADHD, ASD, anxiety, self-harm, alcohol and drug misuse, criminal activity, violence and controlling behaviours.
