Little Owls

A Little About Us

At Little Owls Preschool, we believe in creating a warm, nurturing, and inspiring environment where every child can thrive.

Located at Itchen Valley Country Park, we provide a safe, stimulating space designed to help your child grow, learn, and develop a love of discovery. From the moment you walk through our doors, you’ll see that Little Owls is more than just a preschool—it’s a place where children’s potential is nurtured, and families are valued.

What Makes Little Owls Different?

At Little Owls, we adopt the Forest School ethos to immerse children in nature-based, hands-on learning. This approach encourages independence, resilience, and teamwork as children explore the natural world around them. From building dens to identifying plants and insects, every outdoor session is an opportunity to ignite curiosity and develop practical skills that will last a lifetime.

Little Owls offers a space where children can feel safe and explore freely. With dedicated areas for reading, arts and crafts, imaginative play, and physical activity, every part of our preschool is designed with your child’s development in mind.

We’re proud to prioritise the emotional wellbeing of every child. Through play, stories, and group activities, we teach children essential social skills such as empathy, sharing, and communication.

What We Offer

Our Curriculum

Activities include exploring woodland areas, using tools safely under supervision, creating natural crafts, and learning about wildlife. These experiences foster problem-solving, creativity, and a strong connection to the environment around them.

Hands-On Learning

We believe children learn best by doing. That’s why our hands-on approach integrates sensory play, construction, gardening, and science experiments into daily activities. This method not only builds essential skills but also ensures learning is fun and meaningful.

Family Partnerships

We know that parents and caregivers are a child’s first and most important teachers. That’s why we foster close relationships with families through regular updates, open communication, and opportunities for involvement in preschool activities.
